THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST

The spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus; i.e. the suffering of Christ and the glory that should follow. Through the spirit of prophecy, the prophets of old searched or enquired what time it would happen. They also desired to see and hear it (i.e. to experience or probably to be around when it would happened), but could not. But saw His (Christ) suffering and glory, and prophesied of the grace that should come to those that would believe the gospel of Christ Revelation 19:10,
1 Peter 1:8-12, (Matthew 13:10-17 (see vs. 16 & 17, John 8:56-58, 12:38-41 (see vs. 41, 38, Romans 10:16), Luke 24:13-27 & 44-46 (see vs. 26-27, 46)

THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY OF THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST FROM THE MOUTH OF THE PROPHET OF OLD:
• By human nature (i.e. the flesh), He would be the son of David, the son of Abraham Genesis 22:18 (Galatians 3:16), Psalm 132:11 (Acts 2:29-30, 13:22-23), Matthew 1:1 & 16-17, Romans 1:1-4
• He would be born of a woman Genesis 3:15, Galatians 4:4-5
• His birth would be through a virgin Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 1:26-35
• He would be born in Bethlehem in Judea Genesis 49:10, Micah 5:2, Matthew 2:1-6, Luke 2:4-20
• A king would wants to kill him Jeremiah 31:15, Matthew 2:1-12 & 16-18
• His earthly father would be asked by God in a dream to take the child Jesus to Egypt. He would also be called a Nazarene Hosea 11:1, Matthew 2:13-15 & 19-23

THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY OF HIS MINISTRY FROM THE MOUTH OF THE PROPHET OF OLD:
• He would have a forunner that will prepare the way for him Isaiah 40:3-5, John 1:19-27
• His mission Isaiah 61:1-3, 9:1-2, Luke 4:16-21, Matthew 4:12-17
• He would teach in parables Psalm 78:1-2, Matthew 13:34-35

THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY OF HIS ARREST AND TRIALS FROM THE MOUTH OF THE PROPHET OF OLD:
• He would be betrayed by one of his disciples Psalm 41:9, John 15:13-15, John 13:18-21
• He would be sold for thirty (30) pieces of silver by one of his disciples that will betrayed Him Zechariah 11:12-13, Matthew 26:14-16, 27:3-5
• He would be deserted by his disciples Zechariah 13:7, Matthew 26:31-35 & 47-56
• He would face trial: beaten, slapped, mocked and spat on Isaiah 50:6, 53:5-8, Matthew 26:57-68, 27:1-2 & 11-31

THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY OF HIS DEATH ON THE CROSS FROM THE MOUTH OF THE PROPHET OF OLD:
• His hands and feet, including his side would be pierced on the cross Psalm 22:16, John 19:34, 20:24-29
• He would be mocked on the cross Psalm 22:7-8, Matthew 27:37-44
• He would pray to God to forgive them Isaiah 53:12, Luke 23:34
• His grave Isaiah 53:9, Matthew 27:57-60, 1 Peter 3:18-19, 4:5-6

THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY OF HIS RESURRECTION FROM THE MOUTH OF THE PROPHET OF OLD:
• He would not be abandon in hell Psalm 16:10, Luke 24:1-12, Acts 2:27-31, Revelation 1:18
• He would reign forever Psalm 45:6, Isaiah 9:6-7, Daniel 2:44, Luke 1:31-33
