THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST EXPLAINS AND GIVES INSIGHT OR UNDERSTANDING ABOUT DELIVERANCE

Deliverance refers to, “saved, salvation” etc Exodus 14:13-14, 30,
Joel 2:32 (Acts 2:21, Romans 10:13)
Deliverance is also the concept of the gospel. This is used as (i.e. how it is used in the Bible):
• it is used as “delivered from the hands of the enemy (the enemy are those that oppressed, hate, envious etc)”
• it is also used as “delivered into the hands of the enemy (because of idolatry, deception etc)”
• it is also used as “delivered the enemies into our hands (i.e. the hands of those who obey the word of God)”
• it is also used as “rest from the enemies”

BIBLICAL EXAMPLE OF DELIVERED FROM THE HANDS OF THE ENEMY (the enemy are those that oppressed, hate, envious etc)
• Israel was delivered from the hands of Pharaoh Exodus 3:6-9, 12:27 (18:5-11 Judges 6:8-10, 1 Samuel 10:17-19)
• David was delivered from the paw of lion and bear and also from the hands of the Philistine, called Goliath 1 Samuel 17:17-58 (see vs. 34-37)

NOTE: David wrote some psalms because of God's deliverance from the hands of his enemies e.g. King Saul, Absalom (his son) etc. He also wrote psalms of praise, worship, thanksgiving etc. The Book of Psalms was not only written by David; others wrote some psalms in the Book of psalms e.g. Moses, sons of Korah, Asaph etc

• Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were delivered from the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon Daniel 3:12-28 (see vs. 17-18)
• Daniel was delivered from the lion's den Daniel 6:1-27 (see vs. 14-16, 20, 27)
• Joseph, one of the sons of Jacob was delivered out of all his afflictions Acts 7:9-10
• Peter was delivered from the hands of Herod Acts 12:1-11 (see vs. 11)
• Paul's prayer of deliverance from those Jews (unreasonable and wicked men), that do not believe the gospel Acts 17:1-5, Romans 15:30-31 (1 Thessalonians 2:14-16) 2 Corinthians 1:8-11, 2 Thessalonians 3:1-3. Paul was delivered from all the persecutions and afflictions of those unbelieving Jews that do not believe the gospel 2 Timothy 3:11-12, 4:9-18 (see vs. 17-18)

NOTE:
• Songs of deliverance Psalm 32:7, Exodus 15:1-21 (see vs. 1)
• Through knowledge shall the just be delivered Proverbs 11:9

BIBLICAL EXAMPLE OF DELIVERED INTO THE HANDS OF THE ENEMY (because of idolatry, deception etc)
• Israel was delivered into the hands of the enemy because of idolatry Judges 2:11-15 (see vs. 14-15), 6:1-10 (see vs. 1)
• Samson was delivered into the hands of the Philistines because he was disobedient Judges 13:4-7, 16:16-31 (see vs. 23-24)
• The man of God from Judah was delivered into the paw of lion because of deception and disobedience 1 Kings 13:1-32 (see vs. 11-21, 26)

BIBLICAL EXAMPLE OF DELIVERED THE ENEMIES INTO OUR HANDS (i.e. the hands of those who obey the word of God)
• Chedorlaomer the enemy, was delivered into the hands of Abraham Genesis 14:17-20 (see vs. 20)
• The Canaanites was delivered into the hands of the Israelites Numbers 21:1-3
• Og the king of Bashan was delivered into the hands of Moses and the children of Israel Numbers 21:31-35
• The enemies' land (possession) was delivered into the hands of Joshua and the children of Israel Joshua 2:24, 10:8, 19, Judges 1:2, 4
• Sisera was delivered into the hands of Barak by the prophesy of Deborah Judges 4:14
• The Midianites and the Amalekites were delivered into the hands of Gideon Judges 7:9-15 (see vs. 9, 14-15)

BIBLICAL EXAMPLE OF REST FROM THE ENEMIES
• Israel had rest from their enemies Joshua 21:43-45
• David had rest from his enemies 2 Samuel 7:1
• Solomon had rest from his enemies 1 Kings 5:1-4 (see vs. 4), 8:54-56
• Mordecai and the Jews had rest from their enemies Esther 9:16-25 (see vs. 16, 22)
• The prophecy of the prophets concerning the rest of Israel from their enemies Isaiah 14:1-7 (see vs. 3, 7), Jeremiah 30:1-24 (see vs. 10)
• Jesus Christ had given us rest; we should learn of Him Matthew 11:28-30, Hebrews 4:1-11 (NOTE: “labour therefore to enter into that rest” Isaiah 55:1-2, John 6:27)

TRUE SIGN OF DELIVERANCE
• To call on the name of the Lord; that is the word of faith (the gospel), which we preach
• Also to serve God without fear, in holiness and righteousness
