God’s instruction to Moses
• The Lord instructed Moses to speak to the children of Israel to bring an offering for the building of the tabernacle Exodus 25:1-8,
35:4-21
• Also, the tabernacle shall be one tabernacle Exodus 26:6
• The Lord also instructed Moses that the Levites should be appointed over the tabernacle and its vessels (or instruments or furniture) to bear and pitch it Numbers 1:47-54, 3:23, 29, 33, 35, 38
• The Lord also instructed Moses that the tabernacle and its vessels (or instruments or furniture) should be set up according to the pattern shewed to him on the Mount because it was the example and shadow of the heavenly things Exodus 25:9 (Acts 7:44, Hebrews 8:1-5)

• For God to dwell among His people Exodus 25:8, Leviticus 26:11-12

The glory of God filled the tabernacle Exodus 40:1-38 (see vs. 2, 17, 33-38)

The decline of the tabernacle
In the land of Canaan, the tabernacle was first set up in Shiloh (see Joshua 18:1, 19:51). The tabernacle that was set up in Shiloh was also referred to the temple of the Lord (see 1 Samuel 1:9, 3:3)
The decline of the tabernacle was as result of the wickedness of the sons of Eli the priest (see 1 Samuel 2:12-17, 22-25, 3:11-14, Psalm 78:60, Jeremiah 7:12)
The ark of God was taken by the Philistine during the battle between the Philistine and Israel (see 1 Samuel 4:1-22 (see vs. 3-6, 11-18, 21-22)
The ark of God was later returned by the Philistine on a cart because of the affliction (see 1 Samuel 5:1-12, 6:1-21, 7:1-2)
