THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST EXPLAINS AND GIVES INSIGHT OR UNDERSTANDING ABOUT CALLED OR CALLING OF GOD


Called or calling of God refers to be saved by the gospel 1 Corinthians 1:17-31 (see vs. 17, 21, 24, 26),
2 Thessalonians 2:13-14, 2 Timothy 1:9-10

It is also referred to:
• The called of Jesus Christ Romans 1:6
• The called according to his purpose Romans 8:28
• Called you into the grace of Christ Galatians 1:6
• Called the children of the living God Romans 9:24-26
• Called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord 1 Corinthians 1:9
• Called to be saints (i.e. unto holiness or be you holy) Romans 1:7, 1 Corinthians 1:2, 1 Thessalonians 4:7, 1 Peter 1:13-16
• Called you unto his kingdom and glory 1 Thessalonians 2:11-12
• Called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus 1 Peter 5:8-11, Romans 8:18
• Called us to glory and virtue 2 peter 1:3
• Called in one body (i.e. the body of Christ) Colossians 3:15

NOTE:
What is the hope of his calling? The hope of his calling is the one hope of your calling because you are called in one hope of your calling Ephesians 1:18, 4:4 (The Lord Jesus Christ is our hope– the hope of salvation, the hope of the gospel 1 Timothy 1:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:8-9, Colossians 1:23
• We partakers of the heavenly calling (i.e. been saved by the gospel), consider (i.e. fix your thoughts on or think about) the Apostle and High Priest of our profession (i.e. confession), Christ Jesus Hebrews 3:1
• We should press toward the mark for the prize (i.e. eternal reward– the crown) of the high calling of God (i.e. been saved by the gospel) in Christ Jesus Philippians 3:12-16 (see vs. 14)
• We can also be appointed for all manner of service in the congregation of believers 1 Chronicle 6:48-49, 2 Chronicle 8:14, 31:2, Luke 10:1-2, Acts 1:15-26, 6:1-7 (see vs. 3), 2 Timothy 1:11
• If they were called (i.e. saved by the gospel) when the male were already circumcised or uncircumcised; they should remain that way. And also should continue in their profession or occupation, except the profession or occupation or businesses are contrary to the gospel 1 Corinthians 7:17-24, Ephesians 4:28
