What is tithing?
Tithe is the tenth part Hebrews 7:2, 4

• Abraham was the one that started tithes (i.e. gave the tenth part of all) Genesis 14:17-20 (see vs. 20)
• Jacob followed the steps of Abraham in relation to tithes Genesis 28:18-22 (see vs. 22)
• Tithes was later introduced into the law (i.e. the law of Moses) Leviticus 27:30-34

God's instruction to Israel about tithes
• Tithes of the land (i.e. seed or fruit) and animals (i.e. herd or flock) is (i.e. belongs to) the Lord's; it is holy unto the Lord Leviticus 27:30-34
• The eating of the tithes year by year by the children of israel should be eaten before the LORD in the place which he shall choose to place his name there Deuteronomy 14:22-26 (see vs. 22, 23)
• At the end of three years the children of Israel should bring all the tithe of their increase the same year, and should lay it up within their gates (i.e. store it in their towns). And the Levite, stranger, fatherless, and the widow, which are within the gates or live in their towns, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD God may bless them in all the work of their hands Deuteronomy 14:27-29, 26:12
• The Levites should give tithe of the tithes as an heave offering to Aaron the priests Number 18:24-28 (see vs. 26), Nehemiah 10:38

NOTE:
• Christ Jesus did not condemn tithing, neither did he preached against it
• He also did not collect tithes
