They believe that someone is justified or saved by works e.g. fasting and prayers, tithes and offerings etc. By that, they despise others, seeing themselves righteous and holier than others, and also boast on their works Luke 5:33-39,

When Jesus taught on works; He used the word, “take heed (beware or warning); i.e. we should not be as the hypocrites”, Matthew 6:1-4 (Giving); Matthew 6:5-15 (prayer); Matthew 6:16-18 (fasting)
This message of works is also, against the gospel of Christ (the terms or concept: salvation, deliverance, the word of the gospel etc (see study guide on the Gospel of Christ, chapter three (the gospel is also described as or called salvation, the gospel is also described as or called deliverance, the gospel is also described as or called the word of the gospel) etc
