This message of worship of images or idols is also, against the gospel of Christ (the terms or concept: God etc) (see study guide on the Gospel of Christ, chapter three (the gospel is also described as or called the gospel of God) etc
EXAMPLES OF IDOLATRY
i. Workers with familiar spirits (i.e. they have familiar spirits) is an example of idolatry 2 Kings 23:24
ii. Shrines: places where idols or jujus are kept and worship, which is an example of idolatry 2 Kings 23:8, 19 (NIV)
iii. The sacrifice of blood of goats and bulls or animals is an example of idolatry (Isaiah 66:3, 1:11), Also the sacrifice of human blood is an example of idolatry (Psalm 106:36-38), Also the sacrifice at the junction is an example of idolatry Ezekiel 21:21 (NIV), Also the sacrifice in the garden and at the grave and burning of incense is an example of idolatry (Isaiah 65:3-4, 66:3)
iv. Cutting of the bodies for the dead and putting on tattoo marks is an example of idolatry Leviticus 19:28 (NIV)
v. Consecration and purification is an example of idolatry e.g. charms, eating of animals for consecration and purification (e.g. rats, pigs etc) Isaiah 66:17 (NLT)
vi. Dedication to idols or juju is an example of idolatry 2 Kings 23:11 (NIV)
vii. Symbols including their pictures is an example of idolatry Isaiah 57:8 (NIV & NLT), Ezekiel 8:3, 5, 10 (see vs.10 The Amplified Bible, NLT, NASB & CEV)
viii. Cursing or blessing with the names of idols or juju is an example of idolatry Exodus 23:13 (The Amplified Bible)
